Winner — CGarchitect 3D Awards 2020

The CGarchitect 3D Awards were founded in 2004 and are the longest-running prize in architectural visualisation — the field where architecture, film and computer graphics meet, and where a building is understood through the image of it before it exists. Twenty-one editions in, the awards remain the industry's central annual event: the 2025 round drew more than 1,100 entries from studios and independent artists worldwide, a 25% jump on the year before.

The ceremony travels. Past editions have been held in Vienna, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, La Coruña, and most recently Warsaw as part of the World Visualization Festival.

Judging is by a panel drawn from practising visualisation artists and studios, across categories that span still images, films, interactive work and real-time.

Phygital Shopping Cart is the second part of the Phygital Supermarket Trilogy, made at SCI-Arc. A single shopping cart carries six miniature scenes; inside each sits a smaller cart telling its own story, and each scene demonstrates a different technique — boolean operations in a Lego farm where blueberries have bitten chunks out of the apples, displacement mapping that pushes video and comment streams out of an iPhone turned cinema, oil-paint brushwork scanned from real pigment tests and rebuilt as material, Voronoi fracture in the restaurant.

The trilogy's premise: phygital is not physical plus digital, but a thing that is both at once.
